This is (or was) the most impossibly delicious, flaky, buttery, perfect croissant in all the world. I was totally going to break up with Matthew and Heidi, but luckily for them, they stopped at Bakery Nouveau and picked me up one of these before they came over today. If it didn't mean that I'd be 4 dress sizes bigger, I'd eat one of these at every meal. OMFG. Yes, it was this croissant that inspired me to post after nearly three weeks.

As far as breakfast carbohydrates are concerned, nothing trumps the Bagel. This is fact.
As for croissants, are they made with Philo dough ? If so they get bonus points cause I am a big fan of Baklava.
How strange is it that I ate what I believe to be the best croissant ever this weekend, at a place called the Grand Central Bakery in Portland?
Brian: Bagel, schmagel. I haven't had a decent bagel since I moved West. Bagels don't exist as far as I'm concerned.
Jana: That is weird. Especially because I can't even remember the last time I ate a croissant.
i will gladly trade you a fresh east coast bagel for some Taqueria Guaymas
