When We Left Earth

The Discovery Channel is running a six-part series right now about the history of the space program and it's absolutely incredible.  If you have an HD television, make sure you catch it on the Discovery HD network.  Even the grainy old footage from the sixties looks totally amazing. It's really moving to watch the old astronauts talk about the early missions into space -the courage of these guys was totally unbelievable.  Watching this has made me realize just how much our country desperately needs something positive and inspiring to rally behind nowadays. Sadly, I can't help but think that too many people today would rather follow the latest shenanigans of bullshit celebrities than a mission to Mars.  This show is the hottest thing going at our house. Except for my
sweet ass, of course.

Hey man, when you're on freaking Mars and the whole world is watching and the toilet overflows, you're going to feel really stupid.

Sometimes I really wish I had a tv. Can I come watch The Olympics at your place this summer. And on Sundays can I come watch the political talk shows?

I miss Tim Russert.

Dude, you can totally come watch the Olympics at my place. Peter doesn't like to watch it, so I'll need someone to enjoy the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat with me in hi-def.

Dr. Robert is whoever he wants to be. Or whoever I want him to be, if you know what I mean.
